
About the Role
As a senior volunteer leader, the Executive Director of Development and Partnerships is responsible for the strategic oversight of the organization's financial growth and philanthropic activities. This role is critical to fulfilling the mission to "channel our collective passion into philanthropic good". The Executive Director leads the sector responsible for all fundraising, financial operations, and sponsor relations, ensuring the organization's financial sustainability and community impact.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and direct operational oversight for the Finance, Fundraising, and Partners and Sponsors departments.
Develop and execute a comprehensive development strategy, including fundraising campaigns and sponsorship cultivation.
Oversee the selection and management of relationships with charity partners.
Provide operational oversight for the Finance department, collaborating closely with the Treasurer.
Recruit, mentor, and support the Department Manager(s) and their teams within the sector.
Uphold and enforce all staff policies, fostering a professional and accountable environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Fundraising & Development: Proven experience in non-profit fundraising, donor relations, or corporate sponsorship.
Financial Acumen: Strong financial literacy, including experience with budget development and oversight.
Strategic Leadership: Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team and manage complex projects.
Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Team Leadership: Experience leading and motivating volunteer or paid staff.
Beneficial Skills
Previous senior leadership experience in a non-profit organization.
Experience with grant writing or CRM/donor management software.
Event-based fundraising and sponsorship experience.
